El Día de Las Madres 2022

For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, community members were able to come together in person and celebrate Mothers Day.

For many immigrant families, it is not always possible to celebrate Mothers Day together.  That is why every year we create a space to share and uplift all of the mothers, single mothers, grandmothers, and parents that can’t be with their children due to borders, walls, or bars and other barriers.

Last year, Mano en Mano organized a “Drive-Thru” style celebration in order to keep community members safe and socially distanced.

This year, with COVID-19 restrictions lifted, community members of Nuestra Voz and Mano en Mano staff worked hard to organize and plan a celebration to bring people together and to share culture and tradition with all of the community.

This year our celebration featured: delicious home-made food, a family portrait photo booth, raffle prizes, an activity table for kids, and the performance of traditional dances from Michoacán and Jalisco.

We want to extend a huge thank you to all of the community members, volunteers, and supporters that made this event possible!

¡Gracias!
