Congratulations Class of 2023

As the 2023 school year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to celebrate students of the Migrant Education Program who have graduated this spring.


Areli Anguiano graduated this spring from Fort Fairfield Middle High School. She will be attending University of Southern Maine in the fall, where she is planning on studying nursing.

  • Reflecting back on your time in high school, what is the accomplishment you are most proud of?
    I am proud of everything! I didn’t think i was going to make it this far and so it successfully.

  • What are your plans for next year? (Studying, working, traveling, etc)


    I’m will be going to the University of Southern Maine for nursing.

  • What are you most looking forward to after high school/college?


    I am excited to starting a new chapter in my life.

  • Is there anyone you would like to add? (Ex: "shout out" or thank-you's, more favorite memories, additional details about future plans)

Lucino Aguirre Paredes recently graduated from Narraguagus High School. He is proud of all his accomplishments over his highschool career, and will be working this coming year.

  • Reflecting back on your time in high school, what is the accomplishment you are most proud of?
    I am proud of everything.

  • What are your plans for next year? (Studying, working, traveling, etc)


    A little bit of everything!

  • What is your favorite memory of Mano en Mano (Events, MEP activities, etc)?


    I really enjoyed the trip to Bowdoin college

Jayla Altvater recently graduated from Shead Highschool and is planning on working and studying at the University of Maine, Orno next year.

  • Reflecting back on your time in high school, what is the accomplishment you are most proud of?
    I am most proud of the improvements I have made in my high school career, every year was different and I had a variety of experiences that helped form the person I am and path I am on today.

  • How did the Migrant Education Program (MEP) help you succeed?


    They provided me with all the extra help and guidance that I needed in order to make high school more enjoyable and less stressful for me.

  • What are your plans for next year? (Studying, working, traveling, etc)


    Next year I will be attending UMO and majoring in Human Development, and also working for Wabanaki Youth in Science and Maine Audobon

  • What are you most looking forward to after high school/college?


    I am most certainly looking forward to the freedom and sense of taking care of myself in an environment that gives me great amount of stability.


Pedro Aguerre Paredes graduated from Narraguagus High School this spring, and is excited to start a new chapter in his life next year, and will be busy working!

  • Reflecting back on your time in high school, what is the accomplishment you are most proud of?
    I really enjoyed helping out with the cleaning

  • What are your plans for next year? (Studying, working, traveling, etc)


    Next year I plan on working.

  • What is your favorite memory of Mano en Mano (Events, MEP activities, etc)?


    I really enjoyed helping out at the food distributions at the office


  • What are you most looking forward to after high school/college?


    I am looking forward to being done with school and starting a new chapter.
