We are thrilled to announce a very exciting opportunity to support Mano en Mano, and the new Rayitos de Sol Bilingual Childcare Center!
The Piece by Piece Mano Mosaic
As summer quickly approaches, we are anticipating the arrival of thousands of people to Maine, ready and eager to take part in the 2024 wild blueberry harvest. Right now, our team is gearing up to stock our pantry with food, plan educational programming for kiddos, and organize Welcome and Resource Centers to welcome new and familiar faces. At the same time, we are working to open the new Rayitos de Sol Bilingual Childcare facility in Milbridge! This center will increase our operating capacity to up to 64 families!
It takes so many hands, and hearts to make these projects a reality, and as we prepare to grow and welcome more folks to our community, we are reminded of how vibrant we are when we come together.
As a way to raise money for our programming, and celebrate our community we need your help! You can be a part of our, Piece by Piece Mano Mosaic!
As a way to celebrate the important role we all play in making our community shine, the new Rayitos de Sol center will install a colorful, 14 sq. ft., 5,000 piece mosaic! This piece of art will offer our Mano en Mano community the opportunity to show support for our services including bilingual childcare, and become a physical piece of our new childcare facility!
Piece by piece…we can create a work of art.
The mosaic was designed with input from community members and reflects the industries so important to our local community - lobstering, wreaths, blueberry raking, and more. Created by a local artist, Amanda Edwards, we hope to begin installation later this spring.
We need your support to make this Mano Mosaic, summer programming, and our new childcare center, a reality!
You can purchase a piece!
1 piece = $10.
Contribute as many pieces as you’d like - $50 equals 5 pieces, $100 equals 10 pieces, etc.
For those who contribute $100 or more, you will have your name (or the name of your choice) installed on a wall sign next to the mosaic in recognition of your part in making this mosaic for Rayitos de Sol possible!
Donate as an individual, partner with colleagues from your place of employment, contribute as a family or a group of friends, and all be recognized! Or you can donate in honor of or in memory of someone, and their name will be recognized.
This is our final push for funds for our summer services and the new Rayitos de Sol center! We need 5,000 pieces to complete our mosaic, so consider contributing a piece and share this opportunity far and wide!
